INTERNATIONAL COUNCIL ON CLEAN TRANSPORTATION

The International Council on Clean Transportation has issued a new consultant report “Setting the Stage for Regulation of Heavy-duty Vehicle Fuel Economy & GHG Emissions: Issues and Opportunities”. 

 

STURMAN DIGITAL ENGINE, Digital Valves, and Hydraulic Valve Actuation are cited as “..diesel engine..which might significantly increase engine efficiency and reduce emissions”.  (see pages 26 and 27)

 

ICCT promotes best practices and comprehensive solutions to improve vehicle emissions and efficiency, increase fuel quality and sustainability of alternative fuels, reduce pollution from the in-use fleet, and curtail emissions from international goods movement.

 

The goal of the ICCT is to dramatically improve the environmental performance of transportation systems in order to protect and improve public health, the environment, and quality of life.  The Council is made up of regulators and experts from leading auto markets around the world.

 

The Council is made up of international regulators and experts who participate as individuals based on their experience with air quality and transportation issues. Participants come from the major motorized and motorizing countries and regions of the world, including but not limited to the European Union, Germany, Great Britain, Japan, China, Thailand, India, Brazil, Mexico, Canada, the United States, and California.

 

ICCT first published an unprecedented consensus document on preferred government policies for shaping the future of motor vehicle technology and transportation fuels worldwide in 2001.  The February, 2009 report is the most recent ICCT consulting report on the topic of upcoming Truck efficiency regulations and technologies
